Also didn't someone say the 2014 standard was not adopted...so I assume this diagram while helpful is not ratified?
-
IT...sorry confused ...diagram says optional galvanic isolator...my boat and quite a few others don't have a big heavy diesel or engine beds. Care to explain/discuss what the best option is to achieve compliance. To the best of my limited knowledge my boat doesn't have a vessel ground.

Almanac can be downloaded to a phone or tablet so no reason not to carry.

yeah... but Gavin Brady did sail his p-class across cook strait...Just to be clear, i wasnt serious, but if weather is good, it must be easier than swimming...

Double check that unit is covered by warranty in marine application

Have a look in the top left hand corner of the image - frame is broken and bent - has been repaired before - entire seal along hinge edge is detached and hatch frame bent - sheet got under during a gybe when it shouldn't have.

http://crew.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic/10671-oddball-front-hatch-size/
Pretty sure this is the previous owner Chris asking the same question? Anyone got any new ideas re weaver hatch ( Now Magnus/Vetus) oddball sizing? Don't really want to have to start cutting the front of the boat a part to replace with a "square hatch".
Have had a look at Cule standard sizing and nothing seems to fit? Neither does there appear to be anything available via Vetus/Magnus in a standard size.
Any guidance/thoughts appreciated.
Cheers

aqua green or blue is not a tank cleaner - they are waste treatments - sure it will help keep it clean but not cleaner

Clipper- just wondering what splice everyone using and are theydoing terminal eyesplice without cover. 24 carrier 6mm cover looks very tight
-
KM did you do eye splice on yours 'nude' sans cover or with cover also? Just 24 carrier looks very tight.
-
Looking at doing a couple of sets of lifelines and looking at using something like the above. Note the cover will be 16 or 24 carrier. Aft termination would be to either standard type stainless ferule or ronstan/harken low friction ring to enable a lashing. Advice please?
-
In my experience the epever tracer 10 is a great unit and yes the terminals are adequately sized-unusually they also perform within specification!Reason I caution is I have seen a number of regulators lately where there has either been arcing at the terminal points through poor connection causing the area around the terminal to melt...think about it:( Alternatively, high resistance through incorrect gauge wire leading to visible deformation around terminal points.
-
Really important whatever brand/model you buy that the input/output terminals in the regulator are suitably sized to handle the right gauge wire for the selected panel output current and lenght of wire runs.

Ahh that explains it...only skimmed it.

Why do those look slow to me?

as an aside a life -raft was used in anger down here off Banks Peninsula a few weeks back when a 50ft yacht appeared to have hit a charted rock and sank very quickly, two crew rescued from the raft by local Westpac rescue

Each club should be covered by the PLcover the YNZ has.
We have just gone the PL in radio sailing with the NZRYA covering the clubs and their members.
Don't think it's that simple...YNZ has PL,clubs have PL, competitors/entrants have PL.

Scary...not sure about the jump off the floating boat on dusk, hoping to get collected...sea state looks interesting!
eWOF in Wellington

OK understand. So it would seem like others above my boat has an EWOF with a simple lead from Dock to a 4 way ebox with each pair of 240AC outlets protected by breakers. So as per your diagram from the regs I have everything except the to vessel ground and galavanic islolator.
My DC system is only ever connected to the AC system when I charge the house battery with a CTEK 5.0 amp charger while on board at the dock. The Ctek has built in safeties also.
As per the above comments I have a manual start 9.8 outboard which can charge the house batt via rectifier/regulator when connected via manually switched isolator, So unless I'm missing something my entire 12v system is back to the -ve post on the battery. My understanding is this technically does not comply? Is this correct? As per IT comment then how would the forum recommend that the system be made compliant on a boat that weighs 2200kg, with a manual start outboard and a simple 12 volt system?
I should note the whole reason for obtaining an EWOF was so I could run a dehumidifier when away from the boat in acccordance with the EWOF regs. Note boat has a current EWOF.
