As it transpired they just had learners on board

Ouch! But true. Only 4 on board, two of us complete tricycle novices!

We had a bad first beat and you're correct Fish, you had a good first beat. We went the wrong way and the Bump followed us, whereas you went the other way, much faster as it transpired.

By the way that rubbish about 50 knots is just leadmine prejudice...

Me an expert? Nah! But tactics are universal and sailing a mono or a multi doesn't remove the need for them. I'm just still happily buzzing away after the sail a couple of weeks ago, and frankly wondering why it took me so long to get to this point. But unless I sell my boat, I'll still be sailing a mono and loving multi's.

To sell a monoslug:

Talk up how great and close the racing is.

talk down how exciting the multi is.

Talk up how safe it is.

Talk up how great it is at christmas to go away in.

Talk down how the AC is now in multis and say its always been in monos in the past.

Talk up how easy it is to insure and how cheap it is to keep on marina.

AA most good sales people rely on some form of deception !

OK Mr Wolf thanks for the advice. How about

Monoslug for sale, 30ft racer cruiser (yes it has loads more room than a tri and shitloads more room than a cat of the same length even if you combine both interior hull volumes), sails for every occasion, huge cockpit. Excellent race pedigree and if it falls over it'll get back up by itself...

How am I doing so far Mr Wolf? :?:  :?:
