marinheiro 352
Just curious, given the dreadful weather over the last weeks, as to how many have got away from NZ to the islands. I see on the yit site a fair few who must have left NZ up to 10 days ago at or close to their destinations but no one else on their way. I also heard (unconfirmed) that the big yellow cat El Citron has lost her mast - again. very sad for them
Jon 360
A power boat went to Fiji last week for Theropy Sad news about El Citron, I was on board last sept in Fiji, where did it happen ?
Island Time 1,235
I don't think Cel Citron was dis-masted? The rig is out though, for service work. I've just sold them a new Tri-Color/Anchor combo light. I'll ask...
Island Time 1,235
Yep, boats are still going up (and back), I know of two in the last 2 weeks. One to Tonga, reporting a pretty boisterous trip, the other returning from New Cal, reporting pretty light winds for most of it....
Wannabe 0
Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story!
Island Time 1,235
From the owner; Cel Citron was dis-masted a few years ago (2013), and had a new rig made here in Auckland. The mast base design was altered, and this time the rig is out because the altered design has put too much load on the cabin top, and it was beginning to delaminate. Jon 360
That's not so bad then I was n board with the rig builder and it would be not nice if they lost the NZ rig
