ScottiE 174
Anyone had any experience with these? http://www.marinco.com/en/n20020 http://www.marinco.com/en/n28810 http://www.marinco.com/en/n20704s The last one is sold ion Burnsco as the Nicro solar ventilator I get the feeling that we wouldn't actually need the solar powered ones here as there's usually enough breeze about to drive the passive ventilator. Chewing Gum 17
We have a couple of day/nights. They are now about 10 years old and I have just replaced the batteries for the first time. The motors are still going but are a little worn. Not bad for 10 years of continual running. I have bought some spare motors off ebay. The vents are not cheap to buy but are reliable. I bought mine from the US at Westmarine http://www.westmarine.com/buy/nicro-ventilation--day-night-plus-solar-vents--P012_363_001_516
wheels 543
I have one fitted and the battery didn;t last a year. I gave the battery a good jolt with 12V and then cycled it a few times and away it went again. Will be interesting to see if it is working next time we get back to the boat. Steadfast 4
Hi, I have two on board (20704s), one in the galley and the other in the heads. The one in the galley is 16 months old. The other one is @6 months old. I only turn them on when on the boat- otherwise it is a matter of natural ventilation (you can close the vent off if you wish). The motor on one is a little noisy, the other silent. Bought from Burnsco- more than happy with them. Mike
ScottiE 174
thanks guys. Yeh the main reason I'm looking at them is to provide natural ventilation while off the boat to the forepeak bunks. The 28810 passive ventilator seems like a good solution given we alwasy have some form of breeze in Auckland. Quite like the idea of it providing translucent light below as well.
