John B 106
We were talking about that on the weekend. My comment was in regard to the waterline paint and if doing it long enough , tear along dotted line. Not to mention the engine intake.
wheels 543
The article said recently. I thought, hmmm I an sure I remember that. It was years ago surely, so I did a bit of digging and yes it was in fact waaay back August 2006. Then in 2012, the NZ Navy went up there a took a Look.Today, there is now a sizable volcanic Island above Sea Level.
ScarecrowR31 8
Flew up to Fiji in 2012 and saw a large area of pumice even from altitude. A week later left to sailed back to NZ. There was a constant pumice field most of way back albeit very dispersed. (in 2015 no pumice sighted). Presume much of the pumice on NZ east coast is from this eruption sequence. As an aside there was no scratching on the boot topping or anti-foul when we got home. Hull presumably creates a pressure wave that pushes pumice away.
