smithy09 50
Hi All. Yesterday the Marshall's hydraulics sh*t themselves and filled the bunk lockers with hydraulic oil. Who are the best people to go to to get the pump/controls rebuilt who will have spare parts on the shelf? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance, Smithy.
erice 732
guess you could ask marine hydraulics at orams if they did navtec http://www.marinehydraulics.co.nz/contact-us
Island Time 1,240
No need for a marine hydraulics place. Any decent hydraulics guy can fix them, and way cheaper than a marine place likely. Or even take the blown seals/hose out, and take them/it to some one to get a replacement. It's easy enough to fit, and refill with oil. Be scrupulously clean. Crap in the fluid will cause another failure. Many places offer mobile service, but it's cheaper if you take the stuff in. Is it the ram or pump, or just a blown hose that leaked? You can try, for example http://www.hydraulink.com/ but there are heaps of others as well. I buy my hydraulic parts from http://www.hyspecs.co.nz/ and they have been good. Third option - if your boat is nearby, I could do it for you - send me a PM if you're interested or call on 0221539176
Marshy 30
The Navtec agent in NZ is Kiwi Yachting http://kiwiyachting.co.nz/content/navtec Blair / Gappy will help you out. Otherwise if thinking ENZED type Hydraulic man in a van type - give Neil a call - 027 473 4457 - He owns the Ross 930 Lightfoot, and an ENZED franchise. And is a good rooster that knows his stuff. He did quite a bit of Hydro work for us when i was rigging.
