Island Time 1,239
Ok, first, no wind gen puts out amp hours, no matter how big! They put out amps. That one is 400w max, 33amps at 12v. About 1/2 a hp.
wheels 543
I have no problem with that but your are talking an alternator with powered exciter? It does not matter if the ALT uses a powered exciter or is a Gen with permanent magnets. The equation also does not factor the loss created by friction from the drive belt/s which can be significant. You will NEVER get a weedeater to be as quiet as an inverter/gen brief case design. The casing is all about reducing noise. Leaving aside the blade noise, Wind gens also produce noise via the Generator itself. How well the noise is isolated from the Boat comes down to where and how well it was installed on the boat. As IT said, amps is what any power producing device puts out. Ahrs is the amps over time. 20A for a total of one hr equals 20Ahr. 20A for a duration of 30min equals just 10Ahr. Brien 22
Alice Springs Aust. Has a transport museum that features early outback transport. One exhibit is a 1950,s american station wagon set up for extended outback travel.water bladders are inner tubes and it even sported a gas producer plant tacked on to the back to run the vehicle when petrol was scarce. It had a chainsaw engine attached to a generator for emergency battery charging. One of those would clear the bay!
