Black Panther 1,591
There was one of these next to me in gisborne. The skipper one day very kindly gave me a ride to town and he was able to tell me a lot about the design and construction ( he had a lot of involvement). I put a similar question to him. He was unfazed. " who cares what it is made of? If the ancestors had access to fiberglass they would have used it." I guess the point wasnt to recreate ancient building techniques but to prove the design and polynesian seadarng/navigation. I thought they were doing a great job.
