vic008 17
Tied up in marina, put engine in gear, and noticed all the wash was on the port side of the rudder(transom similar to h28) What can this mean? (R/H prop) Starboard looked like calm water.
Fish 0
Doesn't it just mean your prop is on the port side? assuming you have a long keel and rudder like an H28? It probably also means she'll go backwards like a pig...
vic008 17
Nope, prop on centerline.
Priscilla II 392
Nope, prop on centerline. Won't change the fact that she'll go backwards like a pig...
Fish 0
Its probably just a curiosity of the type of prop, and geometry of the hull aperture. I don't think its got any technical relevance. What sort of prop do you have? I'm envisaging something that goes a bit like a paddle in reverse. Either that or a standard fixed prop in a small aperture with a load of dead-wood around it. John B 106
Paddle wheel effect. Understand that, understand how to use prop walk.
