Guest 109
Quad purchase tensioner on one leg of V backstay? Needs replacing as existing is 20 plus years old. Going to replace all the blocks, shackles AST. Regular pre stretched or dyneema bearing in mind UV. Other leg is SS wire rope.

Bad Kitty 281
Go see chains ropes & anchors, they support sailing, and actually have a clue. Well actually they are bloody good at what they do. Try & avoid the old grumpy one, 😂
Guest 109
Got my Excel, Chain and rode off the grumpy one! One grump to another. 😐 Usually go to Fineline for misc warp. Its closer. I like the handling of 12mm, and it it fits the cam. I forget the names of them.
Psyche 709
8mm heat set first fall, 6mm HS second then 6 mm covered dyneema for the last bit is what I would do.
CarpeDiem 507
Best rope for... There's a sales man's dream. Unless you are racing or want performance then polyester will be more than adequate. If you want the best then a cascaded Sk99 setup should set you back probably 8x the price of polyester. I would recommend replacing the back stay with with a Uhmwpe core if you get chaffe from the main then add a chaffe cover. This will reduce a lot of weight above
