Simrad RS40-B

I installed one on the 930 for 3 kings, northern triangle and RNI races.

It's the B&G version. Running it through a zero loss splitter and masthead vhf serial.

Radio is powerful and clear, and the AIS is really easy to set up. All round a nice bit of kit and on a small boat it makes sense to have it in one unit.

Excellent thanks, that is how I will set it up as well... eventually I will look to link it to my chart plotter as well.

Cheers

Normally Yachts use the B&G version - V60B. I've put lots of these on customers boats and had no issues.... If the display is too small for AIS and you have a MFD or Triton2 displays, they can do the AIS instead... via NMEA2000...

So in theory should work with my Raymarine element display.....

So, I purchased the Simrad RS40-B VHF with AIS transmit and receive, along with a Splitter and NMEA 2000 back bone, plugged it together with the Raymarine Element 12S and wired it all up.... and it all works a treat. I am very happy and satisfied with the outcome.
