Steve Pope 243
I could use one of the socks, what is the dia of the bottom ring on the both of them? Would it be a problem to shorten the length as my hoist is less than that shown. Steve.
Chewing Gum 17
It would be no problem to shorten the socks The inside diameters are 540 for the longer one and 480 for the shorter one
sailfish 0
we have a large spinnaker (off 50fter apparently) and a cruising chute which is a lot smaller. can you use one for both? ie one for a larger spinnaker will make do for the cruising chute or it just simply won't work? Chewing Gum 17
I suppose you could use one sock for both but it would be a bit of a fiddle changing over.

Chewing Gum 17
Hi sailfish, I am planning to bid on the smaller one, no point in bidding against each other. What a shame - I thought I would be able to retire on the proceeds of the Sailfish / Pope battle !!!
Steve Pope 243
Thread drift, Hi Chewingum I was asked to ask around as to the current value of a lidguard 42, would you have any idea what Brian Vercoes one sold for, or what any other regardless type has sold in the last year or two? Cheers, Steve.
Chewing Gum 17
No idea really about prices as I haven't followed them I think it depends a lot on condition. Could be anywhere between say $170k and $300k
