ballystick 73
It was a great night for sailing on Wed night in Tga harbour. If Rigger was at work he or if he had his camera he would has witnessed/photographed a bit of carnage just in front of his office (tug) with boats of all descriptions laying on their sides - Fast Lane, Flashback. A bit of a squirt came through from time to time to catch the unwary and the boats with big kites, just around the corner of Matakana Is. from Rigger it was more carnage. Go to this link to cameraman extraordinaire Murray de Lues to view Extreme in a bit of trouble - it looks good in time lapse. https://picasaweb.google.com/1094011183 ... 27/WedNov9 Murray had to cut short his photographic exploits to assist the distressed and broken boats whilst the Extreme crew had to change their pants. Coldplay found out how cold the water is still with an extended dip.

Atom Ant 0
Bloody Good! Awesome shots. If I clicked fast enough the shots of Extreme played like a jumpy video. Wipeouts like that are so much fun when viewed from - well nearly anywhere except on the boat itself!
smithy09 50
Great shots, thanks! Extreme wipeout was brilliant!
Battleship 100
If you look closely you can see the exact moment (after we stuffed it down a wave) that the cover blew off the downhaul and the pole went a bit skyward. Good times!
rigger 47
Was dealing with some paper work so missed it all .....
PaulR 3
Was dealing with some paper work so missed it all ..... A likely storey indeed Good excuse attempt though Actually great sequence of photos showing the spin pole skying. I always believe the POLE DOWNHAUL is the most critical bit of string on any yacht. When that goes, you immediately (well 99.99999995%) have a disaster immediately, if not sooner. Any other rope breaks, it's just a minor problem or difficulty that needs sorting in a while.
