Atom Ant 0
The AYBA I think, merely publishes a list of all events that are submitted by the yacht clubs. I'm not aware that it tries to coordinate the clubs.

Guest
The AYBA was set-up to both speak as a co-ordinated voice for Auckland boaters of all flavours including sail free fizz nasties. And as a place all the clubs could sit and co-ordinate calendars to minimise event clashes. The same thing Tim is talking about is happening with lead swingers 1 or 2 weekends later where there are a pile of really good events on at the same time. Same thing happened last few years and everyone knew it but yet the same thing has happened again this one. Why everyone wants to do everything in the same month just seems weird and there is no real winners doing that. If the Clubs want to maximise fleet numbers they do need to talk to each other a bit more i.e. use the AYBA for what it was set up to do.
Nate 2
Is the round Waiheke full crew or short-handed for multis? Is any of the open fleet planning to do it?
Mush 10 0
AYBA holds a calendar meeting each year, generally in June or July so clubs can come along and sort out what dates they are going to run events. Yes there are way too many races for the number of days available. Solution, need a new law saying that you can only work 4 days a week. However I can still see problems with that, maybe a 3 day working week would be better????
Mush 10 0
For those that are interested. AYBA calender meeting was on Monday night. There are about 850 races/events on for the 2013-14 season. Some of these are 4 or 5 days long.
Tim C 23
It would be so good if the Route 66 and the Waiheke Race didn't clash again this season please!!
