Not at all Banaari - just stop eating LOL - in reality it is only a problem if you have an underlying disorder (abdominal aortic aneurism - AAA for short). Tends to cause an individual to feel an overwhelming need to use the lav in the middle of the night, which they do. Subsequently they burst the aneurism, and die on the lav.

 

A rather quick way to go really.

 

It is not uncommon for an elder to have a heart attack on the lav either.

 

All in all, the older we get, the more dangerous the lav becomes.

And the more dangerous bed becomes.

For the sake of clarification I am against any mandatory clearance rule, whether the coast is a lee shore or not. like others said: seamanship should be enough.

 

The only point I was trying to make above was that if someone did introduce such a rule in their sailing instructions it would need to apply only to a lee shore.
