Fogg 427
I don't actually refuse to fly on Airbus but given a choice I go for Boeing everytime. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/9 ... crash.html
Battgirl 23
Agree AC that's a pretty detailed report.
Mothership 6
Are there any numbers outlining the statistics of Boeing versus Airbus?
Atom Ant 0
A quick Google search found this http://www.fearofflying.com/resources/s ... fety.shtml or this http://www.salon.com/2011/07/18/boeing_versus_airbus/ Tons of others out there but I get bored quickly.
Fogg 427
So the top 9 safest aircraft include 3 Airbus and 6 Boeing.
Mothership 6
You're a numbers guy AC - the odds for either aircraft are so high, it's almost academic as to which is 'safer'. Good to see that there is mention of pilot error versus aircraft error, as well. Hats off the idiot who totalled two 747s due to not waiting for clearance to take off
Fogg 427
Yeah when planes have accidents they tend to have big ones. Most plane insurance claims are for total losses rather than a bashed wing or panel!
smithy09 50
Wow. That is a scary report AC. Pretty much all pilot error from what I read.. Yes, a bit of a problem with controls feedback, but it seemed like a pretty bad error to make. What happened to looking at the artificial horizon??
Atom Ant 0
What I read from the reports is that the numbers are almost even per million hours of flying, so in fact neither of them are any more safe or dangerous than the other.
