Kiteroa 8
I think it's good that both the 49er and the FX are Kiwi boats with Southern Spars rigs. The 470 has it's place, they're far more technical that the skiff classes. Kite boards.... I'm not so sure. My firlfriend does a lot of kiting. Under 8kts the show grinds pretty much to a halt. The kites will be a light weight class that's for sure.
Fogg 427
I think the selectors missed an obvious choice:

Guest Saturday Night Special
The kite board is an interesting choice I can't say i have an opinion either way on this but I am of the opinion that it is time the last dinosaur was dumped being the 470, what excuse is there left for it to remain? the dutchman was replaced with the 49er good choice in my opinion, kite boarding the windsurfer so what about the 470? its an arse of a boat its slow expensive outdated and not of the standard of modern boats . ScarecrowR31 8
So all kite-surfers must belong to a yacht-club in order to compete and now must pay a YNZ membership fee? Has anyone told them yet or are other forms of yachting expected to subsidise them? Just asking
