Not saying that's the way all race boats should be, but I don't recall wholesale deaths by drowning in the Stewart 34 fleet despite some pretty hard racing in very challenging conditions. One of my American friends, when she saw a picture of the Offender, was horrified that we had no life lines. Her comment: "Aren't you afraid of falling off?"
