Guest Posted April 6, 2013 Share Posted April 6, 2013 The boat is called Aparima, I sold it to Ron late 2011. She's 28ft double diagonal Kauri hull, glassed over. Pretty solid little boat- built 1975 when they built things strong. I remember during a pre purchase survey the boat builder thought she had frames in her more like what you'd expect to see in a 40 footer. Designed by a guy Beck. Apparently she was a scaled up version of a 24ft design. I never took her offshore, though covered plenty of coastal miles and she always felt like a good safe boat. The people I bought her from took her up to the Islands and was told she went pretty well. I hope all goes well for him and look forward to seeing Aparima back in NZ waters before too long.
