Guest
Hi, I own a 70's Vindex 32 (2 skin kauri ply, not glassed) I have very dirty bilges in some places as I don't have very good access to clean them ie: under engine. Anyone have any advice how to clean them? Cheers.
Bimini Babe 0
Had the same issue with mine when I bought her. Big spray bottle of industrial de-greaser and plenty of water to wash it off. Also helpful if you can find a midget/child/skinny woman to apply elbow grease liberally to all areas where your own arms won't fit. Have fun!!!
idlerboat 116
....the above then followed by several buckets of hot water with a large amount of dishwashing liquid.....and then go for a sail on a bumpy day, putting in plenty of tacks !!

tuffyluffy 76
As above, then suck the mess out with a wet vacuum hired from a hire centre. Dont use your own as it wrecks em.

Guest
....get some of these oil soaking cloths from an industrial supplier and put them in the bilge. They will soak up the oil and leave the water.
