hewstan 0
Have asked this before, but does anyone know where these bolt on bulbs came from. There must be a mold out there somewhere, or one lying in someones gararge or boat yard. Can't seem to find anything, and no, a high aspect keel is not an option. Any info greatly recieved

Kaihe Atamai 2
crew user "carpenter29" did the one on revolution blues... this is from c29: "poured by Herdigen foundaries (I think the wre in Porana road), the guy who did it had the standard 930 bulb. the bulb is bolted through the keel and epoxy glued, some boats just glued them and they seemed to stay on okay." Guest
Herdigans changed it's name to North Harbour Foundries when it moved to Silverdale many years back. They changed the name as the new owner couldn't spell Herdigans.......... but then neither can anyone else. The mob you are thinking of and owner (with his bro Barry) of Elbow Room the 930 with a sexy cockpit is Mike Rees Castings in Porana Rd. They do a lot of keels. Guest
KM - the cockpit's cut from a spare deck off my boat. Keen to see how it's worked out This I know and last time I saw it the green eyed monster made a quick appearance. Barrys done a nice job dropping it in and tweaking when moving the motor forward. She in the shed for finishing now. That was a clever grab by the lads hence why I asked where the molds were a whiles back. That cockpit is close as what I'm going for also............. but I have a couple of small things to finish replacing before I get to the cockpit. Oh I just had a thought and maybe a smart one for a change. New thread
