Yeah I would have liked to have been able to seriously pursue Sniper, but hadn’t sold my boat in time. It’s sold now - so I’m lookin........

Light Brigade by Gary Baigent is a pretty good overview as well. http://forums.sailinganarchy.com/index.php?/topic/169168-light-brigade-–nz-school-of-yacht-designdisplacementmultihull/

Thought it might have - but still interested in views though.

Hi All, I’m interested in people’s point of view re the glass 1050s (most of them) V the timber one currently on Trademe. Pros and cons? https://www.trademe.co.nz/trade-me-motors/boats-marine/yachts/keeler/auction-1876895753.htm I like the look of the timber one, it quite appeals to me but interested in others views. Cheers

Now the search for the next boat begins. Looking at Elliott 1050s

Sad day for us last week but good day for Bruno as he is now the proud owner of our Carpenter 29. Bruno and his partner are lovely people so we are glad that Peacekeeper is going to go a really nice young couple starting out on their cruising adventures.

Hmmm. At 16 from the panel the controller was showing 10 - 12, and 0 amps. Anyway I’ve taken it back and am now looking for another panel. Burnsco no longer stock the same panel type and the replacement won’t fit on the eyelits on the dodger. Too wide. Who stocks the magic GoFlex?

So I’ve put a voltmeter directly on the solar panel plugs. The volts seem to range from about 13 up to 16 in direct sunlight. Does that sounds like it’s stuffed?

IT - is your workshop based in Gulf Harbour?

Thanks. It’s an mppt controller. Disconnected from the controller and direct to the multi metre it was still only showing fluctuating between 10 - 12 volts. Do you think the panel is knackered - it wasn’t shaded....

Hi All, Another question from me - I have a solar panel that runs through a controller to the battery. It was working fine after installation earlier this year, but now it’s not. Today it was showing on the controller as the panel producing between 10 - 12volt, but no amps going into the battery. A volt metre confirmed the voltage - but I can’t figure out why it isn’t charging the battery.

Thanks All - yes rolling and brushing white over badly faded white.

Hi All, Does anyone have any experience with Perfection two pot paint - does it need two top coats, or is one enough?

Is Kick back in NZ yet? If so - how did it all go?
-
I’m quite keen on getting one - but you don’t see many on the market. Anyone know of any that might be coming up for sale?
-
Congratulations Mate, I thought long and hard about it too. Nice yacht!

Purchasing a liferaft for Tasman delivery trip and then selling it?
Vivaldi replied to Kick Ass's topic in MarineTalk
Meister, did you end up buying Kick? -
Well I’m guessing it was sold. I think it was second edition that was on the market before Christmas on trademe listed at 120. Gone off trademe pretty quick though

Under 120k

I had a good look at Kick as well, but when you factor in the exchange rate, shipping (or sailing) duty, gst etc it’s getting up to what you would pay for one here. I think I’ll just wait for an NZ based one to come on the market - a whole lot easier. I did like the cockpit layout on Kick though - so maybe.......

Yeah thanks, notified Police and coastguard last night about midnight when I noticed it was gone. Scoured the leeward coast this morning but visibility was poor. No sign, and no one has rung in tomCoastguard.

Hi All, A bit of a stab in the dark here but hoping some Crew.Orgers are about. We are anchored in Haruhi Bay, Waiheke and our dinghy has come adrift. Our location is 36 - 47.755N 175 - 00.992E It’s an inflatable with kiwi yachting refurbished pontoons and a Yamaha outboard on the back. It also has our gennaker in it as we trawled it today and soaked it. Just tried reporting it to Coastguard but they are busy at the moment. Hope you can help. Peacekeeper.

Got one of those on my boat. Great little engine, runs like a sewing machine when cruising at about 2400 revs. Very smooth.
