  1. I had a Darmah years ago. The brakes weren't glass ! More like wood
  2. Totally agree BP. Anyone who has stayed away on their boat overnight has lost any moral right to criticise the covid response.
  3. I rode one once around puke racetrack. Really struggled to get my head around RH and also upside down gearchange. I also remember it vibrated like there was no tomorrow. Still love to have one though !
  4. That Husky 901 or the new Desert x Ducati are the coolest bikes I've seen for a while
  5. They are a cool idea. The original was amazing. The biggest drawback is that they are only a few metres above the water doing 500 knots ! Not sure I would want that on the Hauraki gulf.
  6. Fairly appropriate. Riding in the wet gives me the s#$%s !
  7. Jeez ! I couldn't imagine riding that thing on dirt
  8. This is the next Ducati I want https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/1947/142827
  9. I see Ducati is becoming the Moto E supplier from 2023. Jeez I thought giving the Multi normal valves was a monumental change, but an electric Duc !? On another note I see Courtney Duncan won her 3rd succesive title in motocross. Your mission is to find it in the news. A 3rd rate rugby game only done as a moneymaker is obviously way more important. (sarc)
  10. Very nice but I would have to sell the kids. He doesn't give them away
  11. Those new Z900rs's are a good looking bike. I think they are the best looking retro bike made. I used to own the Z1 that Ginger Molloy won the Castrol 6 hour on way back. I bought it from Laurie Summers for $900. Would be worth a bit now if I still had it. I doubt I would think much of it now with the basic 1970's handling with no brakes !
  12. That's a lot of help !! A friend of mine runs the Delta world's at Mahurangi every year. Great dinghies
  13. Gday I'm looking for a Delta Sailing dinghy. I don't need a trailer but it must be in good nick 021950766 Cheers
  14. Yeah I remember the Mavis. Painted blue wasn't she ? Presumably he bought the Wanderer after her.
  15. There also used to be a guy called Stuart Lind who rode the Egli at puke. I went to school with him but didn't know him. It was funny hearing the Z1's and H2's screaming their heads off and the Vincent going past at half the revs and faster
  16. Rod was always a bit of a reclusive character. He lived up the Waikare inlet at the bay last time I had contact with him. Owns a lovely old Logan called Wanderer. My favourite memory of him was at the classic bikes at Puke. Everyone turns up with their bikes polished to within an inch of their lives. Rod turns up on his Vincent absolutely covered in road dirt. Best looking bike there ! He was a pretty good rider in the day on a Duc 750ss I think
  17. Those firestone tyres on the BMW look dodgy
  18. I saw the Guzzi v8 at Puke a few years ago. Amazing thing. I think Sammy Miller was riding it. He was older than the bike. Because it's so rare they kept the revs under 10k
  19. I always dreamed of owning a Laverda Jota. They are still surprisingly affordable. I got the opportunity to ride one a few years ago. I could hardly pull in the clutch so that was that !!
  20. Toys !!! Now THIS is an ENGINE !!
  21. I think part of the problem was the bike was unstable cornering. Handling wasn't a strong point on TZ700's at the best of times !!
  22. The rear wing was connected by a linkage so that under braking it became an air brake. The idea with the front was that with the dive on the forks the front wing would also pitch down. It was a clever idea. Apparently it didn't really work.
  23. That's impressive ! Almost in Britten territory
