  1. I don't know much about props.

This came with the boat, has been in storage ever since.

not sure why it was removed ( fixed 3 bladed unit installed )

Appears to be a Gori? Cant see any markings on it other than "1" and "2"

No idea how to identify pitch or model or whatever.

What is it worth to someone?

    Cheers

    Here's the facts ..

The border is not secure, thus why we have motels full of people being tested.

A secure border would insure testing before arrival!!!

We have daily new cases sitting in hotels.. one slipup an boom!...

The Government cannot be trusted and has broken the rules, changed the rules, and generally buggered people around..

The vast majority of kiwis have brought the spin and lies because.... hey!... "Getting paid to have another holiday is great "

How many infected people have died from Covid in the last 6 months?....  None

How many under 50s since March...none.

Open up and isolate the vulnerable!

Making people with no recent history of contact with humans isolate is just overbearing.

Letting the US ambassador skip the system and isolate at home is a obvious " 2 systems in play" load of bullcrap.

Making ex Kiwis, who contribute nothing to NZ, get free 14day holiday is just plain dumb... They made their choice to leave NZ and live overseas and should not be allowed back because of their bad choices...  Suck it up !

The government and the health system made and will continue to make stuff ups at the border... And the cost is huge.. which your kids will pay for.

Over zealous rulings on one or two boats is dumb and costly.

They should be smart and charge for isolation and accept nobody who has not tested and isolated prior to arrival... . And... Any breaches should cop  100k fine.

This government is just to liberal, reactionary and just to SOFT and SLOW... But hard in the wrong areas...

If a boat load of gay, dope smoking refugess landed in Snell's beach Jacinda would be there with open arms arms and that " look of sorrow"

Wait to this time next year and check the economy, you house value, and the unemployment numbers...

The virus will be sorted but the debt will linger for years ..and cost more life's

    It has only just begun...

bet you are a load of fun at a party..

  3. I've not used that, but It looks ok - the issue with most joints is movement weakening the wire strands over time.  This thing has glands at each end to make it all rigid, seems pretty good.

You do loose the overall screen though.  Probably not a problem, but maybe keep it out of the engine room and away from radios.

  4. I paid $230 for my MT403G battery replacement in 2018.

Well below the replacement cost for the same unit.

Interestingly the invoice breaks it down to labor and materials,

    Labor cost $0

    Service kit $230

    necromancing the thread...

Any info on haul outs in the South Auckland / East Auckland area?  Brooklands in Clevedon can't handle our 10m, 1.7m draft keeler, so I'm looking for a haul out and hardstand for waterblast, sand and antifoul action.  I have a pwtrol waterblaster, just need 230v supply for sanding and painting (airless spray).

I'm a similar size and also looking. People are pretty booked up at the moment.

I'll come alongside and we can do both boats together. Easier with an extra hand!

  6. Thanks @KM... this is exactly what I was looking for

Couple questions for you - you said you used a satin inside? The spec sheet you link to lists only : Gloss and Low Sheen options :

Tuff Cote Finish WB 2K Gloss Accent 49-2715
Tuff Cote Finish WB 2K LS Accent 49-2115
Tuff Cote Finish WB 2K Gloss White 49-2700
Tuff Cote Finish WB 2K Low Sheen White 49-2000

Satin sounds more like what I want inside than a Low sheen

Do you have a pic to share of your best bit of finish applied by roller?

I went to Wairau paint centre yesterday to suss, some confusion as it seems Cotec have now renamed this product to "Tuff Floor”.

The reason behind this is because 95% of this products usage was in the flooring sector. The product is exactly the same….

See link here for TDS https://cotec.co.nz/TDS/Flooring/Tuff Floor WB Polyurethane MAR 20.pdf - They still have the same product codes so must be the same paint.

For those wondering, the cost of this is around 1/3rd of what you'd pay at Burnsco for Elite 321.

I've ordered some gloss clear for the woodwork and a lowsheen white to try out on the insides.

  7. I've got some interior painting to do, as well as the exterior (deck)

I was going to use the elite 321 brushing polyurethane for both but have since found out you can't flatten it - high gloss is the only option.

Someone here had some secret water borne two pack polyurethane? What should I be using that can be gloss outside but matte / flat inside?

Should I be learning to spray? Where does one start with that

  8. Came down to the boat today (windy) to find this:

The bottom half of my wind sensor is missing. 🤬

Still reading wind angle fine, but no windspeed.

Haven't been up to inspect yet ,but does anyone know if you can get replacement bits for this?

    B&G 508 I believe.

  9. From Bailys

Is your boat covered by insurance, if being used during the Covid-19 Level 3 & 4 Lockdown?

If you use your boat, having been told by the Government that you shouldn't, then the short answer is "No". It would be regarded as a reckless act and/or wilful misconduct, and your pleasure craft insurance policy contains an exclusion for that.

So, we've been anchored in Mahurangi for nearly a month.  At some stage we will need to fill up with water, which I can do easily at Gulf Harbour.  I don't want to take up valuable police time so I think I should ask someone for permission for the obviously perilous trip through Tiri Channel.  But who?  Harbourmaster actually has authority I think?  Coastguard (prefer not to ask them anything too difficult)? Police? Maritime New Zealand? (joking)

Does anyone know or are we all guessing?

Maritime police. email or phone. pm me if you need the #.

They are happy to answer questions like this.
