erice 732
what happened? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/boats-marine/yachts/multihull/auction-1272608939.htm
ScottiE 174
The mast fell off!
Frickie 9
Awhile ago.... now an excellent party platform. Also a great yacht still, either for power or sail.
Clipper 343
She is a very impressive craft. Great cruiser and as i understand, used to be pretty quick under sail?
khayyam 68
How much would it be to put a new rig on a tri this big. Plus a new sail wardrobe if the old set are in shreds? lots?
raz88 96
Has been sans rig for a long time, but still makes an awesome cruiser under power. And if it were to have the rig replaced it had an amazing amount of living space for the performance it has.
ScottiE 174
Fix this up - might work for a year or two. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/boats-marine/parts-accessories/other/auction-1269782603.htm Massive bit of boat though!
erice 732
that'd be the catabatic trick;o) would give you some breathing space for looking for a better rig but of course you'd then have the expense of getting sails for a rig you didn't really want however if anyone were to do this i still have bad kitty's reasonable life left main in the loft
ex TL systems 63
don,t throw that main out, erice, I may have a use for it before long, It was surprising how well catabatic went with a rig and sails from a 20 ft trailer sailer, until it came down/ snapped in 30 kts ... a surplus rig from something like a y 88 or GBE would do fine on Imprezza until you could do it properly. Wayne-o 12
Does anybody know more about the design/condition/performance of impreza?
ScottiE 174
Nobody knows more about any of those things than Charlie
Wayne-o 12
Thanks, but I don't know who Charlie is, and having got no response from the vendor to my question on the auction, all I know is that it doesn't have a mast!
raz88 96
Charlie is the vendor. And designer/builder. He's a good bloke and normally very helpful so perhaps hasn't seen your question yet.
erice 732
Charlie of Taboo? if so could imagine he prefers to talk in person on the boat with a serious contender
raz88 96
It is Charlie of Taboo, which he also designed and built (with his son). I see the auction says for more info ring Charlie on.... so that's probably the way to go.
