Guest Ketchup
Yip! After Hakes (and that thief Thwaites of Hanover fame) left Wellington (with his nice brand new Jag) owing million, most knew it would not take long for him to pop his dodgy head up again.... http://i.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/business/6697607/Boatbuilder-in-liquidation-after-market-dries-up http://m.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=10561958 Go Gunboat! Guest Ketchup
Well there's a surprise, another fiasco around Chinese quality control. Never would have seen that coming! Incorrect!... the QC in this plant is all Kiwis!... the labour is Chinese. Chinese QC is actually quite good. Its the foreigners (management) that set up plants, to exploit the cheap labour, that are responsible for QC.
Bad Kitty 252
Well you have your view & I have mine. Enjoy!

grantmc 59
I read the newspaper articles that Ketchup provided links for (thanks). Amazed to read "In August 2007, one-time millionaire property developer and bar owner Thwaites was sentenced to 400 hours' community work for tax evasion, and found $1.4 million to pay employees' tax deductions which had not been passed on to Inland Revenue." Works out to $3,500 per hour. And to put salt in IRD's wound the 400 hours is in effect tax paid too. What would have been the consequences for a young brown boy from South Auckland who stolen $1.4 million?
erice 732
kill someone - get sent to jail for 15 years kill a hundred - get sent to psychiatric centre for 7 years kill a thousand - get invited to geneva for peace conference
Guest Ketchup
Remember that Asian dude that Westpac deposited a "lazy few million" into his accounT and he obsconded overseas, No expense was spent to get him back here and locked up. Unfortunaltley young brown fellas use a bit more aggression to obtain their $20 from a diary which really skews the sentencing. Mind you the net effect is still the same for the victim. the sad thing is .... I believe Stewart thwaites still "swans"around Wellington in a flash Merc and his Hidden millions are never to be used to pay the victims... including us the tax payer.
