Terry B 71
Hi all, just hauled yacht today and prop is a hell of a mess - more barnacles than prop!!!!! - folding 2 blade, a cuppla years old. Was prop sped 2 years ago at the same time as anti foul - anti foul will go another season. Any easy ways to get the barnacles off? I'm allergic to hard work. I've read about Hydrochloric acid?? splat 55
Curious, how did you clean prop during the two years, if at all?
Battleship 100
These are good, don't damage the prop.
Terry B 71
Thanks guys. Splat - it was dived on regularly and water-blasted late last year on floating dock (Westhaven). But, due to life getting in the way, hasn't been cleaned for 10 months. No excuses. But I was staggered at the growth on the prop. Owned her for 6 years and not seen anything like it on prop - and she's been in the same marina all that time. I'll try the flappy discs and those wheels today. If the feckin rain stops. Summers a comin'

splat 55
With propspeed it is very easy to wash or scrub off the final coat. Do not waterblast or use scouring pad at all as it will damage and remove the the 'slippery coating'. My suspicion is it was blasted off hence the growth.
