Deep Purple 524
Thanks guys, had a great time. It's been a very nervous few weeks having no idea how we're doing in the boat. Beating the local mixed Keeler fleet by 10 minutes an hour doesn't prove much. Anyways she seemed to go okay. My son Matty said on the 2nd beat "sh*t this boat's fast, we're sailing like bunnies and it's still ahead" Prick We had our moments. Great location, great course, basically a 7.5 mile windward leeward and a good friendly bunch. Sorry we didn't hang at the club much, Friday was my birthday and Saturday we were shattered. See you next year
Deep Purple 524
That Panic Knot was really fast. 15 minutes in front of Elevation which gave it 31 minutes!
Panic Knot 6
Was a great weekend. We had you spotted on the 44Forty in that vid. Sorry we were pushing it and made you a bit nervous. Great first lap with the sports boats with a few changes of lead on the beat back up the lake. When the breeze got up for the last two laps they had slightly longer legs than us downwind. Lots of wind shifts on the lake - we think we did 30+ gybes over the three laps but some really great runs down the lake locking into the breeze. Had one period of sustained 10 mins just sitting on 11-12kts - magic. Last beat home was tough and we're still sporting a few aches and pains. Having a chat to NZTYA about our handicap. Her history is mostly with keelboats and the initial handicap when we got the design approved is definitely way too low. Working to get that sorted asap but handicappers are (understandably) keen to have some data to work with as well.

No worries mate it looked cool from our perspective ....I’ve had far worse from deano on the golf course , four square court and the friggin netball court back in the Corsair days . we enjoyed the tactical upwind battles on leg 2 and 3 you guys kept us on our toes the whole way . Carbon Footprint 12
Hi DP, I’m the bow monkeys dad, I’ll get your details from 44, we’ve got some good footage of you guys, unedited. It’s always weird, but cool to see your own boat sailing! I’ll send it to you.
