stevemcd 0
Results so Farr... http://www.rcyc.co.uk/sitedata/Misc/Res ... r-QT-1.pdf Yep not a good day for the team, Boat is good below 10knots, not very good above that. They were leading in the last race of the day before it got called off, hopefully the results can keep improving! Knowing the age difference and the differing IOR rule changes thru the 70's and 80's period there will be some real differences between boats. And i wonder how much difference there is because of the Mods some have made to some of these boats. The old 727's would be slow against the likes of the newer Anchor Challenge designs, for example. Finish places are still calculated on corrected time, all done under IRC now, the 727's are still competitive, 45 south was there the past couple of years and has done well, although its rating wasn't that flash as they have a carbon rig. any mods done to the boats obviously effect the rating, boats with original 70's or 80's configurations still do well under IRC and in the 1/4 tonner events. just need the local 1/4's to get IRC ratings and step up to the mark! Guest Dry Reach
tuff out there. Yip the Enigma lads are struggling a bit. Maybe its a "6x fat girls" windy regatta? (ref rule 5 above) and not a 5x skinny boy's light airs affair?
Guest Dry Reach
That rule 5 is a cop out. A extra 1 person of say a average of 80-85kg is a huge difference upwind in a 1/4 tonner. they should do the Etchells thing and also have a maximum crew weight.

Guest Rocket
How come they bumped the numbers up to 5 in the first place - 4 skinny white boys sailed these things just fine back in the day... The world is going soft! And crew limits should always be weight based otherwise you finish up just employing fat b%stards
Guest
Only way I could get invited for a sail.

Guest
The aforesaid GK24 was sailed with 4. The odd time we had 5 it got too crowded.
