We have just an ice box, but looking at putting in a 12v system.

Does anyone have any experience with the Tropicool sytems.

or any other advice.

Here is a couple of previous threads that talk to the 12v fridge/freezer systems.

I just have a couple of really good chilly bins. Can keep ice for 7 days witch is fine for 48 weeks of the year.

Does anyone have any good tips for keeping chilly bins cold. Icecrem containers of dry ice? Mixtures of meths and water etc...?

The best is Glycol and water mix. Never use pure Glycol as the mix is better. It's about 40%glocol 60% water for the best at being the coldest. Thenm you need to place it in one damn cold freezer toi freeze it, but even as a liquid, it will still remain cold.

Saltwater is an easy to do one. It freezes at much much colder temps than pure water and is safe to throw overboard when it thaws. Plus it is safe to throw into your chilly bin as crushed ice and cover everthing, instead of having a container taking up room.
