Guest
Anyone know who can check it for greeblies? Off the boat and mast so it can go to them easily.
wheels 543
The best is an Ultrasonic crack testing machine. It sends ultrasound down the length and any cracks reflects an echo back. Just like an echo sounder. I have no idea who would have one of those though.
Kiteroa 8
If you have a little bit of length to play with it may be worth re heading the rods. Rod really only fails on the heads, so re heading is very good value for money.

Marshy 30
Just Die Penetrate them and if you get any red lines left over re-head them. Any rigger can do that for you and it used to be a regular thing for all rod rigged boats we looked after. http://www.contech.com/Dye_Penetrant.htm
Guest
Thanks team. I do have a dye kit but I know a little about rod so want someone who knows the product better than I to suss it all. I run a strong programmed based on this phrase 'The more important the job = the more of a specialist to sort or suss it'. NZ Rigging has it in hand. Another off a very long list sorted
