John B 106
Fantastic! We had good cruise sealife wise this year. Just one orca off Tut's but numerous pods of Dolphins in the Bay and Mimi, and around the boat at anchor at Barrier. A good pod of pilot whales near the mokes and a manta ray sighting between the mokes and Barrier. Quite a few Bronzies mooching around as well. A big one in Kaiarara bay, Fitzroy. wheels 543
They have been all over the place down here in Marlborough. Lots of sightings and reports of them jumping out of the water and playing around boats. I was told that there is only one Pod of them down here that move around the Sounds and Cook Strait/Wellington, but not sure if that is correct or not. We don't usually see them until about October when they come in briefly to hunt for Stingray and then they are gone again. So it is slightly out of the ordinary.
shorebreeze 0
Great to watch this. We love to watch the orca that come up the Sandspit channel. Lots of rays in the estuary so they've been seen going up each river hunting. Lots of dolphins come in too. Exciting for the community to watch.
