  1. Where we are, 200m upriver from the marina. Great spot, safe etc but a real issue with marine growth. Bbyc has great haul out at Grangers Point too.
  2. Yes, we're with lumley too. They have been excellent and possibly one of the cheapest too. Definite have to have the mooring certified for insurance to be activated.
  3. Navysailor...You fit the criteria for the police sailing hosting of emergency services Regatta. Next on 5 may. Pm me if you are interested.
  4. The insurer's will probably want you to apportion values to the hull, motor, rigging too. I guess it restricts you a bit on what you can claim on, unless it's total loss.
  5. Usually they'll want a survey report on the vessel.
  6. I'll wait for summer, thanks
  7. Yep, what Harrytom said. Take your measurements off the existing. Can't go too wrong with that. I have a further questions though. My existing main which was probably second hand off the Ark has slides along the foot. Is that the superceded by loose footed mains now?. Are they all loose footed, or is that mainly for say Racing?

    Slomo

Yep, doing it, what ever way he wants to.
  9. Cheers for that. Love it when someone takes away the guesswork
  10. Same issue here... from reading, I take it that I should dry out the area, then coat liberally with antifreeze... then What? Evadure AFTER it dries out?
  11. Definitely on the shaft and in engine. They both wear out to some degree each year. Engine anode at least half gone and shaft possibly a quarter . Thanks for the heads up. I'll bear it in mind and try and get the old bit out. Don't want anything floating around in the engine water jacket.
  12. The pencil anode in the engine broke off the nut and is stuck in there. No way to extract. I'm guessing it will slowly wear away, at what time I will replace it. Can't push a new one in behind it. Any thoughts Anyone?
  13. I know there are so many to choose from, so could be the impossible question. Could be scenic, or a special memory made there. Mine could be Garden Cove on Waiheke Island. Borrowed a trailer sailed and took my girlfriend there... late 1980's. We married in early 90's.
  14. Jeanneau is one of the options actually. Something around the 40 ft mark.
  15. Cant say I'm trying to achieve anything here, just a topic of interest. I like the idea of a lines free cockpit area and thinking my next boat will be something like that. I've got a wish list which includes the above and a few other ideas. Sounds like it's better to buy what I want outright than to chop and change.
  16. Thanks for that. I'd just heard it called Gms.
  17. All good info. Something to think about, as I said, cheers
  18. I'm guessing it's more just a cruisers thing.
  19. It's just a thought at this stage, but has anyone converted a main sheet system, typically in the cockpit area, to one fwd of the Dodger? Are there any pros or cons for this, apart from making a bit of extra space in the Cockpit? Is there any loss to control, tightening up the mainsail Etc? Would the cabin top need extra strengthening?
  20. I think that IRD computer was to match data trolled from public forums on the Internet. But I never said that.
  21. So, BP. Time to fess up, what did you do? Nuff time has passes to protect the innocent.

    Interior Paint?

I'm thinking that rolling the lining would be better than spraying. Thoughts on this?

    Interior Paint?

Good question. Can't answer, but interested to learn of suitable paint to cover vynyl headlining.
