  1. Are you surprised that a suspected thief in one country gets off in a court in Australia - having sailed from that different country - with their lineage!
  2. Do it at night - but don't knock any prostitutes or drug dealers into the piss on yer way out the gate that you've left wedged open with a trolley!
  3. Yesterday I started chipping away at the rot along the back rail of the nacelle with a Dremel drill, then with a hammer and pinch bar. Tonight I cut a section out further forward with the jig saw - saturated! Ah well - just another deck to build! One day soon I hope to get to the end of pull things apart!
  4. Forgive my ignorance BP but I also find your example odd. So BP was built in NZ, I'm going to assume domiciled in NZ for your example to be relevant, sailing the scout trips in NZ that drew the attention of, presumably, the NZ govt, and in order to legalise said scout trips he got the boat registered in . . . Vanuatu. Why register in Vanuatu and not . . . NZ?
  5. Odd that it was built here but registered offshore? Is there a tax issue there? I wonder if the answer is as straightforward as "no".
  6. TL - given the latter statement, and the fact that the current regs are in line for update, it does give you the oportunity to discuss your issues with a multi inspector and see if there is a modification that can be proposed.
  7. too small if you want to race an 8.5!
  8. does anyone know anything about the Hondas? Their BF20 wieghs and costs about the same as the yamie 9.9 high thrust.
  9. Awesome reconn tool for a light airs coastal though - if only the range was another 5 or 10 nm!
  10. Ah - awesome! Paxfish - that's the traveller sitting behind the aft beam - the honey combed I-beam. She really is a pretty boat! Again - well done Ex-TL forgetting her going again.
  11. Need to put up a pic of Careless Intent's traveller - that'll make the yank go real tropo!
  12. . . .so I haven't turned this laptop on since before xmas such is the schedule that is my life nowadays . . . As I sit here gulping down beer by the gallon listening to Toy Love on the turntable here's one for you Bill. This is my screen saver on my home laptop. I've looked at this now for many years and always like to think of Bruce as a guy out in front. Where is his little multi? I'm gonna say this now about 10 years old - back when the club just moved to the Vic. - others can correct me. I took this from the tank farm one race when Tim's dad said he had the start under control.
  13. cheers Tim - never a truer word spoken (though there are two words missing in the last part of your statement ; - "go" and "multis"!)
  14. When ever I'm motoring I always feel like I should chock the motore so that it is negatively raked on the transom and chuck a heap of weight on the bow. From what you're saying Tim - it seems like that would be a bit pointless?
  15. I'm interested in this as well. I get about 7-8kts with my 8hp merc long shaft with the stock prop. boat is only 1000kg
  16. (click on [More Reply Options] at the right of the button and that will give you the upload options.)
  17. Bill - don't suppose you know what happenned to First Order do you?
  18. BooBoo - awesome mate - this is just perfect timing for us now that the boat is lying close at hand. Clipper, How long before you move Voom out of w/haven - need to come have a nosey as I work to setting up the boat for the kids. Looks like there's been a few innovations since I last sailed on her!
  19. Ah - that reminds me of a club project I've forgotten all about. Coastal records from the very origin!

No - when racing I do what I'm asked by any skipper regardless of whether I agree or not.

wouldn't you have a safety strop fitted in line somewhere - in the same vein as a swimsaver on a windsurfer

Was on Viva last night - you smoked under us like we weren't even there just after devonport. At after the finish I watched you bury the leeward ama in a little - pop out - jump on the foil and just take off! Seriously jealous mate!
