  3. Is this a done deal at Gulf. Developers to get lots 1 to 6 freehold in exchange for handing back lease of lots 7 to 9 https://www.panuku.co.nz/gulfharbour
  4. Will be interested to see where the leaders go next after clearing Cape Verde.
  5. Never been alone and stuck in aft cockpit locker upside down for a hour with head and shoulders in and bum poking out.
  6. +1 for the well scripted rant Mark. All the usual suspect players are on the field so to speak regarding the Panuku board. Ex CEO John Dalziel now heads up Silk Road Management Inc. This CCO is really just a publicly funded private developers land banking providoring service. Lot 18 handed to Orams I wonder how much of that deal will ever see the light of day. Puff you are right and it was Brendon Telfar the sports journo who purchased in Western Springs that spearheaded the anti speedway lobby.
  7. Panuku the crowd funded by you and me ratepayers entity has purchased Onehunga Wharf off itself POAL. https://www.panuku.co.nz/onehunga-wharf-purchase. I wonder how much that cost.
  8. Back to the drawing board. http://www.yrvind.com/
  9. Word of caution. You do not see many if any masts finished with this product here and maybe the reason could well be durability. Right royal pia to become a slave to topical products. As others have posted maybe best just to clean and leave to the elements.
  10. Everbrite, never used it and I wonder how long it lasts.
  11. Bangladeshi Moon Boat
  12. Anybody know this boat. Nice looking hull and a chop and channel would not go amiss. https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1683136704
  13. 50 years ago today the grocer came home from a sail.
  14. I wonder how many of these will turn up in 2022. http://goldengloberace.com/ggr-2022/ https://www.sailfeed.com/2013/12/bernard-moitessier-what-really-happened-to-joshua/

    Imoca 60

Looks like the Imoca 60 will be the next design for the round the world race. https://www.volvooceanrace.com/en/news/12065_Agreement-will-see-IMOCA-60-boats-in-next-race.html
  16. David Rankin quoted recently. "The ratepayers aren't in the business of having marinas, broadly speaking, so the question has to be asked - why do we need that capital tied up in them when there's so many things council needs to spend its money on Bit of convenient memory syndrome going on there David seeing you were Mayor I am not your Father John Banks wingman when we lobbbied you guys to purchase Westhaven off Ports of Auckland. Finally the penny dropped and the millions of dollars of renewable BEU leases lit the light that paved the way for a deal. For those who do not know David he is
  17. “Who paid for that?” Empire Capital maybe. The public needs to know you need seriously deep pockets to stand up to theses guys. Media public relations spin doctors and supreme legal weight don’t come cheap.
  18. Just keep it well lathered with grease and it will last for yonks. Comes in white as well.
  19. "I’m glad Knox-Johnston is around to see it". Still fagging away so I am sure he is bloody happy to be around as well.
  20. This guy knows a wee bit about yacht racing too. http://goldengloberace.com/skipper/philippe-peche/ Its all horses for courses but for me Sir William Robert Patrick "Robin" Knox-Johnston ,CBE, RD and bar and the Moon landing were it as a 9 year old boy. This race is more than a 6 knot journey down memory lane it has all the factors of sailing at its best, ok no 35 knot surfs ,ever cascading waterfalls and wipeouts in a carbon boom box deep in the southern ocean but these skippers will giving it their all believe me.
  21. SV L'escale would be one of the most used yachts in the harbour always tucked up somewhere in the Gulf. No point inviting them over for dinner however maybe lunch instead. "This was 14 years ago and now when we do our socialising on other boats it is in daylight hours only".
  22. I wonder if the race organisers have made a error regarding no live broadcast footage. In this digital age it seems to me that the audience would be far larger if they had done so from the get go. Rustler must be happy.
  23. Agree Chariot I like the old school format and the competitors are all not doing what I am, going to work.
  24. Yup it’s all on. Fleet of 16 and only .7 of a knot in it . 24599 nm to go.
