antonahill 0
Do I really have to pay for a survey to get my new boat insured or is there someone locally who can just come and have a look and say OK it'll be this much? Thanks Anthony
Young Entertainer 59
ring PIC they will insure nationwide and I have never had to get a boat surveyed using them
BMW56 12
I used Youi and they didn't require a survey. (Boat is moored at Cass Bay in Christchurch.) Mind you, a survey could be useful for telling you things you don't really want to know so as you have enough time to save up to fix them! Or could be useful in negotiating the price if there is work to be done that's not obvious on your new boat and you haven't yet sealed the deal. Barrie
antonahill 0
Thanks. I've already bought it. I thought I'd be better off saving the money that could have been spent on a survey and using it to fix things that need fixing. I have previously tried negotiating on the basis of what's wrong without much success. This time I said I really like your boat but I only have this much money, which was true, and now I have the boat.
wheels 543
I discovered two days ago, we are also insured with PIC Insurance Brokers.Re survey, well I guess it depends on how they insure you. I know survey is an expense, but I can only imagine that then there are less arguments when there is a time of claim....maybe....perhaps.....hey it's an insurance company.
