ScottiE 173
https://i.stuff.co.nz/sport/americas-cup/113718065/luna-rossa-declare-new-americas-cup-boat-too-difficult-too-extreme I guess this puts paid the rumour that LR would only help out the kiwis if they agreed to go back to monos. Clipper 195
Not at all. It just shows what whiny pussys the Italians are
raz88 59
"Bertelli, never shy to offer an opinion during a long association with the America's Cup, was a driving force in returning monohulls to the competition after three editions in multihulls." I'd say that rumour is alive and well.
philstar 53
Yeah interesting. I still can't imagine how a 75 foot version is going to work or what the advantage is over the cats will be. I'm sure they will have nice BIG floaty masts to stop them falling all the way over .
Fish 648
I'm sure it will make a great spectator spectacle having gazillion dollar 75 ft boats capsizing like centreboard dinghies. Bit like nascar crashes. Sure everyone is there to see a race, but crashes are so much more fun to watch... I'm assuming the crew will have adequate safety gear. All you need to worry about is Ben 'crash' Ainslee running over you if you happen to fall over infront of him... harrytom
philstar 53
or the large sharp foily things lopping heads off or body's in half as the slice through the water / air.
KM... 868
I didn't like the comment 'we've spend 2 years trying to get the electronics working as we want and we aren't there yet'. That used to be 'we've spend 2 years of sail testing'.
Island Time 786
Dont be so negative guys, this is bleeding edge technology, in all respects - hull, foils, electonics, rig and sails. It'll be awesome! And all those things are equally important in the safe operation of a revolutionary vessel.

KM... 868
A passing comment on a preference is now a negative? As it was OK to voice a preference at breakfast the speed of that change to it being so evil does take 'gone by lunch' to a whole new level.
