Brendon 0
Descent From Disaster this week is a documentary on NZ's yacht race disaster. Might be worth hitting record.

Island Time 1,240
Good Story, based on real events, published in several books. Kind of hard to duplicate in film/TV I would think. Be interesting to see how well TVNZ has done it....

Steve Pope 243
George Brassel was one of those who took their boats out, was one of the heroes, went out and saved lives. These were Yachtsmen who really knew how to sail, got caught out, No epirbs, Helicopters, liferafts etc. in those days,

Brendon 0
I know that the documentary maker tracked down and got several of the yachts that actually took part in the race together, in Wellington, for filming re-enactment.
ballystick 73
That documentary was amazing, very sad and a reminder that the sea/weather can be very unforgiving at times.
