ex Elly 254
Sir Russell Coutts has gone from running the America's Cup to running a small yacht club on Auckland's North Shore. https://www.yachtingnz.org.nz/news/201707/coutts-takes-charge-at-manly-sailing-club
muzled 140
That's awesome, bloody good on him for getting stuck in! The guy turning up from Parnell I find a little odd but hey, I guess he's in there as well.
Deep Purple 530
Awesome Hopefully some of his detractors will shut up but I doubt it
philstar 62
I was at the agm a couple of weeks ago. He's keen as mustard and doing it for the right reasons. Hopefully the club will go off.
Island Time 1,290
Great News. Russell is (used to be 30 years ago) a good guy. Anyone who puts effort into promoting sailing in NZ gets the benefit of the doubt in my book. I certainly don't begrudge him his decision to leave Team Nz years ago - he is/was a professional sportsman, and you go where the best career move is for you. I look forward to what he might do for Manly Sailing club, and sailing in NZ in the future.
