Neil 35
Trivial question but on our boat, all the chrome-like taps and fittings (not sure what they are made of these days) are showing their age. All dull and tarnished - see the pics of the base surround on one of the galley taps. Any easy ways of bringing them back to life? Any magic potions out there? Or is it just lots of polishing or buy new fittings? Ideas?
Neil 35
Not sure why the pics are upside down, they looked the right way up on the laptop
mattm 98
Looks like the chrome finish is coming off? I doubt having them re chromed would be worth it, I'd say replace them is the best option if that is the case.
Island Time 1,239
Replace or replate....
Neil 35
A couple of hours in vinegar and... Guess I should take the rest of the galley to bits now
Island Time 1,239
Good job! It looked to me in the first picture like the electroplating was pitted. Obviously not! Well done

Black Panther 1,592
Try coca cola?
wheels 543
Wow, I was thinking the same as the others. It looked like the chrome was stuffed. That is an excellent result.Cola has Phosphoric acid in it. It's good for rust.
