Zozza 293
So, sometime last year I remember either a thread itself or posts within a thread that Maritime NZ was going to drastically cut the ridiculous fees they charge to register your boat unde Part B. So, um, when exactly is this supposed to happen? As you can see below, the fees have not change one iota. I fear we were fed a bunch of BS. Part B of the register Initial registration $1,175Provisional certificate of registry $940Renewal of registration (6 months or less before expiry) $940 Re-registration $1,175Replacement certificate of registry $470Change of ship’s name $470Change of registered owner’s name $353Certified transcript of registry $235Certified copy of document $235 Computer print-out of registry details $235 Inspection of the register $
Ladyhawk 37
Zane, I understand its happening soon, the owner of a cat we are crewing on to Fiji in June sometime is spitting tacks because they've been told they just miss the cutoff point, ie they still have to pay $1175
Zozza 293
Zane, I understand its happening soon, the owner of a cat we are crewing on to Fiji in June sometime is spitting tacks because they've been told they just miss the cutoff point, ie they still have to pay $1175 Hope you are right Trev. I remain doubtful. Anything that involves bureaucrats i immediately distrust. They move quicker than the speed of light when they want to whack up fees for anything, and slower than continental drift when it comes to lowering them. I fear MNZ are still stuck somewhere in Gondwana land in the Neoproterozoic period of about 550 million years ago.
Jon 360
Mine needs renewal by 17 September Was just thinking yesterday that I could renew it now and forget about it for five and a half years. Now I think I’ll wait a bit, if no one here know I’ll give them a call in a few months
Dtwo 157
Some good news released yesterday, changes apply 01 July. https://www.maritimenz.govt.nz/public/news/media-releases-2019/20190529a.asp Appears that initial registration will drop from $1175 to $368, re-registration from $940 to $245. Still struggling to see why it is even that expensive. W*nkers.
Kick Ass 47
Could have saved a few bucks if we waited a year to bring Kick back from Aus.
Jon 360
Nice I’ll take that Expensive printing and postage but $245 is a lot better than $940 to post me a replacement (date changed) piece of paper.
cj! 19
Definitely an improvement but having to get Cat 1 still remains an issue for some.
