B00B00 282
Wow long tough trip. Which way would you go? Southern ocean, shorter quicker but likely more risk. Over the top of aussie, longer, safer, more places to stop, covid debacles?
nick32 0
Gday, could be keen, I am a experienced off shore sailor. Call me on 0212648829 to discuss. Cheers Mike

Then quarantine on arrival?? And then the problem of getting home. Rough guess minimum 3 months.
Black Panther 1,344
Definitely worth investigating deck cargo options
Island Time 1,089
Agreed. Looked at this. 3 months away from home. OP did not want to pay for that - I gave him an indicative quote.

Sitting there in a deck chair, beach umbrella and an ice cream in hand, amongst the shipping containers.
wojdi 0
Hi, thanks for the interest. Deck Cargo is insane expensive as there is no direct route available. It would go over Singapore.
nick32 0
Hi all, I am looking for experienced crew to deliver a 50 foot cruising cat from Whangarei to Cape Town. Departing mid to late April. Boat is a exquisite built in South Africa to a high standard. 4 years old with all the mod cons. The passage is 10,000nm and expected to take 70 days, making 1 stop in Darwin and 1 stop in Mauritius to re provision. Please be aware of the dynamic situation the world is in at the moment due to Covid 19 that there may be a delay in returning to NZ due to limited space in MIQ and irregular flights. If interested please contact me on 0212648829 or email cptnmike2005@yahoo.co.nz Cheers Mike

Its actually shorter that way - but the time to go has past, - fancy a southern ocean passage of 8000 + NM with winter approaching, in a Cat? Not me sorry!

Sail Rock 26
Maybe you could do it the Graeme Kendall way - non-stop to SA via top of Australia. That would avoid COVID restrictions on the way. Hard yakka though!
