Winter 42
but did you hear the sound it makes? Soon every boat will have its own jet turbine generator and Izzy bay will sound like an airport
K4309 395
What are you going to do with 8kW on a boat? Light up the Sky Tower? The biggest stereo and cocktail blender might nudge 3 or 4 kW max Most batteries can't take more than 40 odd amps anyway
ynot 54
Oh... but it makes such a really cool sound.

LBD 176
You guys will soon figure out I am one of those... "Oh, that reminds me" kind of guys A number of years back I am at the yard of a Swedish water jet manufacturer.... I took with me a couple of NZ jet boating videos, sprinting and river racing for a show and tell... One of my hosts said they had a jet boat that does 45 kts, they will take me out on Saturday... Saturday came and we walk down a jetty and stop at this big heavy timber planked boat about 35 odd feet... .45kts? Not in a month of Sundays. Cock pit cover removed and stowed, battery isolator on, ignition on then my host depresses the starter button. Instead of the crank and rumble of a healthy diesel, I got to enjoy the sound of a 700hp Pratt and Whitney gas turbine winding up.... yup 45 kts, lots of roar, no rumble and no vibration and the sweet smell of kerosene combustion gasses. 1
