Very nice!!!

I really should point out to you racers that a cruising boat can have a great downhill slide, then, instead of bashing your brains out to get home, pop into Barrier for a couple of days R&R and come back in the easterly later in the week :D

Hi Chris, Coming home from Kawau yesterday would have been a doddle then , did yoo knot want to get out of bed for the start? you passed us by rangi , we were under kite (Marauder) :D

Had planned to stop and fish but didn't work out so just slept in and casually found our way home.

You guys looked good surfing the waves under kite.

What a great vid! Well done to the cameraman, really get a sense of the wave coming and then the inevitable plow into the trough ahead. Brilliant. Not a bad effort too from the guy working the sheet winch all the way from Rangi to Cuvier!

Skins did you happen to find any water in the cabin on the way back?!

That's got to be one of the best sailing vids ive seen. Chris certainly had the winch covered and probably saved the day deciding to blow the kite when the bow went in.

They say a wet boats a quick boat. That boat must be bloody fast :)

What was the top speed?

YES indeed, great video showing truely fast speed and the height of the spray at the bow most impressive.

That young nipper should compare this Truxton video to his earlier video claiming a good speed.

Some of those dives into the waves certainly must of given concern that the forward buoyancy may be lacking :!: or is the top of the mast being pulled to far forward    and pushing the prod down :?:

Great to see Channel & Cuvier Islands in the shots.

With a bigger boat, the Southern Ocean beckons  where you get days not hours

We have had a few good rides on the Tounge Twister including last years Coastal but that takes the prize for sure. Obviously well sailed. Long live the Kiwi desire to go fast. Why would anyone race IRC.

IRC has a survey going, perhaps closed now. Possibly on RORC web site, as I don't think it was YachtingNZ. This video should be sent to them :!: if somebody has not yet done their survey.

I know I added a comment tothe survey along the lines of "Why would an English Solent sailor worry about getting a rating from a Turkish Yacht Club when he is most unlikely to ever go there" :?:

UK to Turkey being about the same distance as NZ (AKL, WGN, CHC) to Australia (MLB, SYD BIS), especially when all the formula are hidden in Turkish behind closed doors.

At least they were asking the questions about IRC.

Why would anyone race IRC

Maybe because it's currently the best rating system around...

IRC boats can be fast. Check out the new Ker 40. It would smack any 40fter currently sailing here.

The biggest problem with kiwi's is we often turbo our boats to counter a lack of skills. Unfortunately if you don't sail a boat to it's potential you won't do well on any rating system.

It's very interesting looking at the RNZYS "C" division... Lot's of turbo'd R930's. Interestingly turbo'd 930's have won the most races but no R930 has won more than 1! It seems the winning boat one week is just as likely to be 10th the next ! No consistancy in sailing... The current line honours leader is a pretty conservative design but consistantly sailed boat.

Hey Cameron. Check out "NO LIMITS" vidio.

Dont think they look to concerned about IRC or any other handicap for that matter. Probably went past a few 40 footers too.
