philstar 61
FANTASTIC!! At last we can get more than 6 boats in a fleet. ok so now lets get the twilight and winter series coordinated. what do others think about this
Atom Ant 0
Good Phil but the people you need to convince don't read on this forum. They are the old timer die hards in BOTH clubs that don't want to change. The committees of both clubs are all for it, but the pressure to get with the program needs to be from one yottie to another. Good on Barfoot & Thompson for getting behind it.

203 0
Crap how did that happen? Too much rum me thinks.. Its good to hear the clubs working together, Certainly will make racing interesting The racing will either be closer with certain boats, And hopefully a few boats from town will come up! Atom Ant 0
And it gets even better folks. Not only have the two clubs cooperated on the short handed series but Weiti have now moved what was their Summer midweek twilight series to a Sunday. Gulf Harbour YC have in turn adapted their midweek summer twilight series to suit the tidal requirements of the Weiti river. This means that both clubs can race in nearly all of each others races. This is an excellent level of cooperation which was sparked off by Mark from Barfoot & Thompson Whangaparaoa. As a member of both clubs he wanted to see bigger fleets and what better way to do it than to tap into both clubs. Nothing like a bit of inter-club rivalry. The clubs have been at it for years in the combined cruising race series and it can only be described as low key intensity! So big ups to the sailing committees of both clubs and to Barfoot & Thompson Whangaparaoa.
philstar 61
sooooooo are we going to see a nor for the barfoots short handed? because apparantly ghyc is running the first race but according to their brian holgate 2 handed series first race is 28 oct. Now weiti has no nor for the sorthanded series and no race scheduled until 2 oct. so whats happening guys? Its about 10 days until the first race in the "barfoot and thompson" combined series and theres no entry fee, no nor and no race for 29 sep.
Jocon 0
Great stimulus from Mark and Barfoot and Thompson. Am looking forward to both the Two Handed and the Twilight Series with the Gulf Harbour and Weiti fleets racing together this summer. But as Philstar says we need some NOR's and confirmed dates out there real quick if we are kicking this off in ten days
