  1. I'm with Jono. SSANZ and the events they run are awesome and you could say world leading. Two handed racing took off in NZ a long time before the rest of the world caught on. To someone's question above the 88 fleet has been having an excellent series with elastic bands between boats in the first two races. The skipper of a bright green tri was reported as looking up the Firth at a bunch of 12 very similar boats line astern and saying "That looks like a one design fleet" We have 9 in the series in our division and another three elsewhere in the event. We have 12 entered for S
  2. Hi Alexandra, suggest you contact this lot based out of your home port. They have a great fleet of Young 88s and are often looking for crew. https://www.facebook.com/groups/278595412958118/?ref=share
  3. Agree 100%. Although that price must be for one of Auckland most expensive marinas. Access to safe, convenient and affordable berths has to be one of the key enablers for the survival of small/medium keelboat cruising and racing. The marina is a key element for the 1000s of crew who get out on the water each week throughout the country in summer/winter. If we see continued inflation beyond CPI and berth size "creep" at least from our city masters then we might need a new thread. or to reinvigorate one that is on here already! We pay $548 per month for fingerless berth at Westhav
  4. I'm not that good on the history but hasn't this regatta been a key part of Auckland's racing calendar ...... Feltex Regatta, BMW then Jack Tar? Someone fill in the gaps. Covid has definitely put some extra fleet number challenges in the mix for organisers but if ever there was an opportunity for Auckland's large race fleet to get on the water this is it..... underwritten by largest clubs, local, relatively inexpensive to enter and compete, a format for everyone, great opportunity to go hard out with race crew or intro family and friends, plenty of social events in great venues, weekend
