  1. We don't get into a 12 metre berth anyway, it's 14 metres or nothing. (Original OL = 12.2 metres). Now it will be 13 metres with the prod withdrawn, so no issues.. I can put a USB stick into that port if I want to, that's the idea..
  2. Yup! Spot on. SSB - AUX port so if you don't have bluetooth you can still connect..
  3. It fits!! Pretty happy with that effort. Worth 1/2 knot on all points of sail.
  4. More prod fairing and reinforcing. I don't think it will fall apart in a hurry.
  5. I sanded it and used Epiglue. Seems OK, but it only has to support an instrument panel... Pics when it's finished and I'm sure it fits!!
  6. I had the last compass about there but on the centreline. Trouble is, they are such big cumbersome beasts, it is hard to find a protected place to mount them. If I have trouble with it, I will remount it with a custom bracket.. BTW, that Carbinge is awesome stuff...

    Loved the eyeball!
  8. More progress.. New keel delivered and weighed, prod being faired, tack line sheaves in, new autopilot wiring complete, work on cockpit making progress.
  9. Not a chance. Was always a bit ambitious..
  10. Jon, Signcorp were awesome with the Marshall. Recommend!!
  11. More lead and like Phil says, slipperier.. Longer with smaller cross section. We suffer from significantly less righting moment than all the other Ross 40s..
  12. Carrying on with the upgrade thread, The Marshall is now out of the water at Gulf Harbour with Brin Wilson fitting a new keel bulb and 2 metre Prod. At the same time, some of the electronics will be upgraded with a new Raymarine Evolution autopilot, and Port and Starboard controls replacing the "Finger-amputating-behind the wheel-how fast are your reaction times" current controls. Thanks to Bruce from Brin Wilson and Edwin from Halls, and Phil Ash for making sure the mast didn't rip the deck off when it popped out!
  13. Phil sums it up nicely. I saw a solid 38 knots windspeed on the instruments halfway across, and we had gusts way above that. I am guessing at least 45 knots. Big ups to Norths for making indestructible sails as the #2 was built for 25 knots max.... It's still in one piece and not toooo soft! . Lot's of work to do but a good race. Thanks to Phil for the write up and for risking his dodgy hand in a tough old race..
  14. I've got a loadcell you could borrow if that would help. Up to 5000kg in tension... Find out the REAL load!
  15. I guess you made it out there Shane?? Nice one.. How about a post detailing your adventures??
  16. Looking at your facebook page Shane, it looks like quite a life you live. Good on ya mate. Take the good advice from people on here, disregard the negatives that will hold you back and just be careful. Harrytom's offer of help is worth moonbeams. I hope he can get together and do some sailing with you. Stay positive mate!! I once met a Tunisian guy and his French girlfriend in the south of France. They wanted to follow us in their little 22 foot fibreglass trailer sailor from Sete to Corsica, which was an overnight trip in our 30 footer. He was navigating on road maps.. I gavce him a quick na
  17. Great write up and videos Team Blink. I tracked you guys the whole way and you were hauling. First time I think I have really seen you guys stretch out from the Elliot 35s. Nice race!!
