Spare MaxProp anyone

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We have a MaxProp 3 bladed classic that we want to sent to the states for a overhaul. A bit of a long shot - but does anyone have a spare MaxProp we can use to keep us going while the other prop is sent to the states?

I will check shaft dia and blade size today.

Al

7.9/79, then you’re 1:10.  RH 18”, 30mm shaft. Next is keyway dimensions.

I like the kiwi, generally.

I can’t seem to stop it spinning at speed in a seaway. Feathers for awhile then with quartering sea starts again.

Dropped half a knot at cruising revs, reverse is great.

I put my GB into reverse to stop that issue with the Kiwi Prop. Gives it a bit of resistance, and makes it feather again...

Tried that once. The Kanzaki KM3P locked up and wouldn't go back to neutral.

I was contemplating a solenoid lockup that unlocks when key is on, except I use key off/on  to reset external regulator and

keep motor running. Good for the extra power slow astern.

I had that once but the engine still started quite happily with it in engaged in slow astern - whereupon it immediately released and returned to neutral as normal.
