Frickie 9
Who else is planning on doing the A2T in shorthanded div? I am all locked in and don't want to be lonely. Also planning to be back in time for the SSANZ 150 the following weekend!
Battleship 100
Depends on the weather. We are looking at it.
ballystick 79
I have sent a entry form and NOR to SSANZ (Andrew Mc) who will distribute it to make it easy for people to enter. If there are 5 or more boats we will make a separate division, the trophy is amazing for this classification. The shorthanded division is still eligible for the A and B Divisional prizes and trophies, as well. white tornado 1
I am doing it. Timewarp, reasonably quick modified boat.
Delacruz 1
Sorry to say that the 'Superbird' won't be making the start after the skipper came off second best after a railway sleeper rolled down his shin. Unfortunately requiring surgery and wont have recovered in time. JP and I are gutted we wont be at the start line and wish all the entries a great race . ballystick 79
Oh no!! You guys are part of the history of the event! All the best for the recovery and hopefully we will see you next year, probably on Waitangi Weekend in 2018!
Delacruz 1
Thanks very much Ballystick . Waitangi Weekend 2018 has just been set aside for our next A to T race . Hope that date change draws in many more entries for this great race.
Deep Purple 530
Great thinking, will the race be Saturday and you take the Monday off if need be?
ballystick 79
Not fully confirmed, but it would be matched to the tidal conditions which we looked up but I can't remember now
ballystick 79
Looking at the various weather forecasts, when would the best time to start the race rather than the usual time on Thursday morning?
Frickie 9
My thoughts is 5pm.
markm 30
10am, 8 April, should I have commented sooner? Interesting Metservice marine still calling the worst of the cyclone to miss us. Suspect whilst it's a minority they may be right but I'd probably delay the start by 24 hours anyway. Have to say Thursday evening looks as ugly as hell currently on the global models. Frickie 9
Ok, I changed my mind - Friday morning is a much better idea - this risk of the centre moving by 20 miles is high. yuk. 60+ knts off the Merc's is not worth the story you could tell after.....
ballystick 79
Friday morning looks to be quite an improvement, wind-wise.
Frickie 9
So long as it not too light (not being too greedy), direction s/be good. I want to use my big kite...
