Wipe clean it with Acetone and it will remove the oxidised layer.
Kevin McCready 83
I'd get some really expert advice but my initial thought would be to leave it alone; I think the oxidized layer may in itself be a protective coat.
Island Time 1,284
Absolutely Kevin, the surface oxidation does indeed protect the mast. If there is no actual corrosion to deal with, I'd leave the mast alone, unless you intend to paint it.
Myjane 40
Thanks it just looks crappy , I remember the gipsy moth masts were the originals and they just polished them and they looked brilliant , not sure if they were sanded to get an even surface
Priscilla II 410
Everbrite, never used it and I wonder how long it lasts.

Dtwo 157
I have some Nyalic on Trademe for a good price. Was going to do my rig but didn't get round to it.
Priscilla II 410
Word of caution. You do not see many if any masts finished with this product here and maybe the reason could well be durability. Right royal pia to become a slave to topical products. As others have posted maybe best just to clean and leave to the elements.
Myjane 40
Is myalic a alloy polish

Island Time 1,284
Nyalic does not stand up to NZ uv well in my experience.
Marshy 30
Leave it raw... Nyalic is a pain on rigs as flapping sails pull it off, and any scratch then looks crap.
